Is live streaming of motion builder data a possible form of input for avatar control in unity?
Hi there, I'm new here and need a little bit of advice. As part of a college project I have qualisys motion capture cameras and motion builder software with the intent of having a virtual avatar that can mimic certain movements of the person with markers in front of said cameras. After spending hours pouring through tutorials on this site and forums I have only seen information that mocap data (or the wire frame made by motion builder) can be imported to unity and used for animation, but only as a saved and replayed animation, not as a form of control. Since all the input and avatar control for unity is concerned with gaming (perfectly understandable, gaming usually works with a mouse, keyboard, etc) I just want to ask whether it's actually possible to run a live stream of data into unity to do such a thing. guessing it would have to be manually scripted as I can't find any assets or built in functions for this (yet) but would such a script even be theoretically possible?
Apologies if I screwed up any technical terms.

if anyone ever reads this old post, the issue was solved. The camera company developed a plugin that streamed real time data from the cameras to unity for me to use. So it is possible, just complicated.
The plugin you mentioned would be extremely useful for other people with similar issues. Did you hear from Qualisys if you can share it?

The Qualisys unity plugin is open source and information about it is available at: www.github.com/qualisys
