Possible to build android .apk for non neon devices?
With the move to unity 5, android builds use neon instructions on ARMv7 to drastically speed up performance, however, some older devices don't support neon, and since unity 5, android builds will no longer run on those devices. People using older devices get an error, Failure to initialize! Your hardware does not support this application, sorry!
Is there any way to not require neon when making and android build? It reduces part of the accessible market.
I'm also wondering if there's a way! Cause I can't imagine losing all this big part of the market either!
Could Unity $$anonymous$$m please give us an answer? We were hoping that Unity would keep supporting (relatively) old devices, since that was one of its strength. We are even considering reverting to Unity 4.6...
Android devices are evolving rapidly. Use 4.x to make games for older devices.

There are no current plans to support non-NEON devices in Unity 5. As Graham said, use 4.x to target them (the market share does not seem to exceed 2-3%).
What data is the 2-3% market share based on? I am currently looking to find this information myself.
