Why is there a gap at the beginning of every inline code box?
Whenever I'm using inline code highlighting by using backticks
there is a gap in the box containing the code. This seems redundant as the text is already highlighted with color, a different background and a border. Am I the only one who thinks it'd look much better if the space wasn't there?
For reference if this is ever changed after this post here is a picture of what I was referring to.
Yeah, this is kind of odd. And the red is kind of distracting too.
I actually quite like that it is a different color because I think that it makes it clearer that it is code compared to StackOverflows highlighting. Is it the fact that it is a different color that bothers you or is it the choice of color?
$$anonymous$$ostly the choice of color, but I think just having the alternate background along with a fixed width font would be more effective and less jarring than a color change. But I'm just a programmer, not a UI expert :)
