Unity 4.3 - What is 'PIX texture capture'?
Hi,
I've been playing around with Unity 4.3, and found this option in the Player Settings:

What is it? It was disabled by default, what do I gain if I turn it on?
Thanks in advance!
Weird, even in here:
http://unity3d.com/unity/whats-new
They haven't said anything about it... They should make sure to document everything they add!
Has anyone tried this?
Old Unity (<4) could be PIX captured if you baked an EXE
Unity 4.2 crashes when you use PIX. I assumed Unity stopped supporting PIX at this point.
Unity 4.3 has this "Enable PIX texture capture" box! I don't have Unity 4.3, someone let me know if you can PIX builds!

PIX (originally short for Performance Investigator for Xbox) is a performance analysis tool from Microsoft that can help software developers maximize the efficiency of Direct3D applications. Originally for the Xbox video game console, Microsoft has released it for the Windows platform as part of the Microsoft DirectX SDK to aid game developers.
A replacement for the PIX for Windows tool is now a feature in Microsoft Visual Studio, called Visual Studio Graphics Debugger
