Annoyances With The New MonoDevelop...
A few issues have been bugging the hell out of me with the new MonoDevelop since it got updated when Unity4 came out.
The button to collapse / expand things such as comment blocks and function blocks no longer shows up when using javascript / unityscript. Is there a way to make it so that this shows up again? It is a real pain when editing 1,000+ line scripts.
The auto-correct feature correcting things for me when I don't want it to is super annoying. It didn't use to do it for as many things as it does now. I realize I can turn it off, however I would rather have it just not auto-correct to certain (pre-selected) words because I do use the auto-correct every now and then. Is this possible?
In the chance that the previous questions are not fixable, is there a way I can have Unity use the old version of MonoDevelop? (What version number did Unity3 use?)
Can I have Unity use an entirely different code/text editor of my choosing as default? (I know I can just open the scripts with whatever tool by by just browsing to them in explorer, but it would be nice to have Unity open the program for me.)
Thank you for your time. :)
I use
#region Whatever I want to call it
//Lines of code*********
#endRegion
as for autocorrect all of that can be changed in preferences.
That just breaks the script. "BCE0044: expecting 'p', found 'r'."
You can go to edit -> Preferences -> External tools and choose a different editor. Unity will not auto create project files for those though, unless they use the sln/csproj files that monodevelop and visual studio use.
