Flashlight cuts off 180 degrees
Just trying to make a simple horror game character controller, using Unity's built in character controller and a directional light. So far everything works, except that the light gets cut off on the ground for 180 degrees on one side of the player. Thing is, the player has no renderer to cast a shadow, and the light still casts onto the trees.
Thank you for any help.
EDIT: I checked the light against a wall and the circle of light didn't change as I looked up the wall. The light still looked like a perfect circle from my point of view, while a real light would stretch along the surface that it casts onto. Not sure if the problems are related, but I thought I'd ask about this one while I'm here. I can't seem to find any answers anywhere else online, so I have to pose my own question. Help would be appreciated.
