Mesh Mountains
Does anybody have any idea how I can make some mountains better than these? Image:
Now that it works fine I have a new question, does anybody have any input on how to make a mountain pop up from some random place ins$$anonymous$$d of doing it like this:
if (height > 175) {
height *= height/175;
}
If it's about the look of the mountains, you should use variables which you can adjust in the editor to get the results you want, like this:
float height, threshold, steepness;
if (height > threshold) {
height *= steepness * (height/threshold);
}
Or a simpler approach like:
if (height > threshold) {
height += steepness * (height - threshold);
}
The thing is that I want to remove the threshold part, so I can generate random mountains.
Sorry, I don't really understand what you mean there. Are you saying you want to completely discard the noise you generated and generate something entirely new?
If you have a new question, please post it as a new question, or edit the original. One should not have to read through the entire comment section just to get to the actual question.

Figured this one out, my perlin noise function only got divided by 3, so I changed it to 300 and now it works fine.
