Load image file into pixel data array?
I'm looking for a way to have the user pick an image file, then have the game load, and interpret the file by looking at each pixel and saving its hex data to a string array. could anybody tell me if this is possible??? if your curious, its to import maps for levels in my project
I literally have no idea where to begin. everything I've looked up has been about 2d pixel vector stuff. I'm hoping someone can point me at least in the right direction in terms of what information i should be looking for. thanks in advanced
note, i posted a question similar to this recently but it was for some unknown reason, rejected. the only comment suggested i post what i've tried so far and what error's ive gotten. the problem with this...is that i don't even know where to begin with someting like this....i have no code, no errors. simply an idea i would like a bit of help with. i'm still very new to unity only having used it since october of last year. all i'm asking for here is a starting point. what should i look into?
Hi, you can check Answers moderator guidelines here. $$anonymous$$aybe the community on the forums can help you first ? Then, when you have broke down your problem into smaller one and tried some solutions/scripts, "Answers" will be the right place to ask specific questions about one aspect/script/bug.
In addition to what dns said,, it's absolutely possible. A starting point could be this in addition to reading up on serialization (for using custom images).
