[Qato] What's up with the moderation queue now?
So, I've noticed that in the last few days, I've not been able to approve certain posts from the moderation queue. There seems to be no rhyme or rhythm to the pattern, either- sometimes I can allow a post that has been waiting in line for all of 5 minutes, while others have been waiting for almost two hours. Sometimes I can pass all of them, sometimes none. Certainly, it doesn't take the quality of the post into account, that's for sure.
Have there been some changes lately to the system that I'm not aware of? Is it just me? Is there some arbitrary limit to the number or posts a single user can clear from the list in a given period of time? If that is the case, it is still not consistent with my experience that some posts can go through, and not others.
It is somewhat frustrating having to communicate with people just using the comments section, since we cannot post answers to questions which have not passed the moderation queue.
I've not experienced this exactly problem, but in the last few days I often noticed questions without the "publish" button (only the [+] button). I suspect this is a bug - there's no reason in this world to keep any question in this undefined state.
I've seen that same thing, no publish button, and it can persist for days on some posts.
I sent an email to Graham Dunnett and support@dzone.com relating this issue - hope someone can fix this bug soon (there were about a dozen stuck questions when I checked the moderation queue last time)
I've noticed the issue too. Thanks for addressing it. :)

Hey guys. We believe the fix we just deployed should take care of this. Sorry about that, there were many changes in the time since we fixed that bug and we try not to deploy things that aren't fully cooked to this site :) If you notice something acting up, please get in touch at support@qato.com. Thanks!

The dZone guys are aware of this issue. They have seen it occasionally.
Well, it's been a week, and I'm not seeing any progress. It's honestly a pretty big bug! One post just had to wait 4 hours before I could clear it. Just because it's called a 'queue', doesn't mean people should be forced to wait in it for no reason!
This queue bug is bad: I noticed an increase in "abandoned" questions - we answer the question, but there's no reply or comment from the OP. I suspect that many people get tired of waiting just to see the question published, and simply give up and never come back.
The moderation queue isn't a good approach - a simple Captcha for those with $$anonymous$$arma below 15 could solve the spam problem without bothering new users this much.
I used to be on the fence about this one, but since the moderation queue bugs started I've changed my $$anonymous$$d. Get rid of it.
