About Unity License
HI!
I'm a student right now.
I want to use the Unity free to develop 2d games for iOS,but don't know how to do that.
First ,I think I need to buy a 2d game Engine like 2d toolkit and that will cost 65$.
Then , I want to publish it to the apple market.
Do I need to buy a iOS add-on? It's too expensive for me to pay for the Unity Pro and IOS Pro.
I want to use the least money to make a 2d games for iOS.
How can I do that?
Thank you!
Yeah I hear you. Buying a mac was also my big pivot point. I can tell you I bought a $$anonymous$$imal $$anonymous$$ac $$anonymous$$ini and loving it. Spare yourself a lot of trouble in trying to find a way around it, there is none that is worth the trouble. For me buying a mac was almost a religious thing, I now doubt my decades-old decision to ever use Windows... :)
There is however another option - first develop on Unity for WebPlayer or Windows Standalone, see that you like it, and enjoy it, and see that you get along with 2D Toolkit, and only afterwards decide if you want a mac or not.

iOS and Android Basic became free earlier this year. If you stick to the Basic package tools you will not need a Pro license until you break $100k a year, I believe.
A bare minimum for you will be the Apple Developer license which is a requirement to build and deploy for iOS.
Yeah, Apple Developer license is a must, and 2D Toolkit is highly recommended. Of course, you will need a mac and an iOS device.
It's a bit frustrating that you must build for iOS on a $$anonymous$$AC. Puts my dev cost up by a grand sterling!!
