3D model characters and unity
Hi this may be a very simple question, even n00bish, but I never made any 3D games before so I'm not sure how it works.
I made a 3D room with tables and chairs in google Sketchup. My next step is making some 3D characters in 3DS max now. (For first time in my life)
The idea is to have those chars walk around the room and sit on the chairs, or be sitting on a chair from the start.
What I want to know is that when I've made my characters in 3DS max and animated them, should I also have them sit on the chairs I made in Sketchup in 3DS max or is that something I do in Unity?
Oh and if anyone got tutorials/guides on making and placing 3D characters to show how it's done, it would be great too. Vids >>> text.

It can't be right people haven't played with 3D chars and NPC in unity...
i'm a little confused by your question do you mean you should animate them in unity or 3DS$$anonymous$$ax.Sorry I would help but I don't quite understand. You can do your animations in 3DS$$anonymous$$ax that way.
morgen23 , sorry about that. I will try to explain it clearly. Just tell me if there's something that's still unclear.
I need to make 3D characters in different positions. I need someone who sits on a chair, someone who walks around and so on. I already made the chair in google sketchup.
What I'm asking is which way to do it. Is it:
1) I make the character in 3ds max and then import him to unity. I already imported the chair in unity. I make him sit on it in unity.
2) I make the character in 3ds max. I insert the chair into 3ds max too. I make him sit on the chair in 3ds max. Then I import both into unity.
I don't have experience in it so I wonder how you really do it. So make the char in 3ds and then import into unity, or import the chair into 3ds, make the char on the chair and then import into unity.
(also if there's any tutorials/guides on how it's done, it would be awesome)
