Unity performance issues.
Ever since I downloaded Unity 2019.2.2f1 and Visual Studio 2019, Unity has been way slower than it has ever been before on my laptop. Everything I move in the scene lags, Unity and VS take a while to load up, and when I play my scene there is about a second delay on any movement or action I make. For example, right now I have this script that makes game objects appear while I hold down the space key down. The instantiation is in Update() so the game objects should spawn quickly but they don’t. If I tap the space bar once to spawn a single object, it takes almost two seconds to spawn (using Update!!).
It’s also any project I’ve been working on lately. Last week I made a very simple game demo to show off how object pooling works and everything in play mode was lagging. It can’t even properly show an object falling without only showing a few frames of it moving.
Does anyone know how I can improve the performance of Unity? My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 7000 series, uses Windows 10, about 4 years old, and my storage is nowhere close to being full.
