Problems with Lighting, Unity Pro

I have Unity Pro and have some scenes which require dramatic lighting, but none of the lighting features are working. I've tried a variety of lights and not sure what's wrong. Any suggestions? The "Casts Shadows" option under each light is checked. My objects are mostly planes, but a few are also 3D and those aren't casting shadows.
