His name is Léon. He is the first born child of his mother Jane, but she didn't want a boy. If anything, she wanted a girl, her own daughter. The depression hit her even harder when the baby's father left. But she tried to love him anyways. It was hard, but she managed it.
When the day came, she had another child. A girl. She was so happy and she loved her with all of her heart. But the boy grew bigger and he started to do some foolish things with his sister. He wanted to play with her. Of course that's what young kids do, but his momma didn't like it.
Few years passed and she was struggling with two kids as a single parent. She started to drink and smoke to get through the day. But that made her angry.
It seemed to Léon that she was always angry. But she never was fierce with her daughter - Melody. Léon started to understand her struggles, so he tried to help her. He always kept his room tidy and tried to clean the house. But his mother didn't like it either. Said that it was her job to keep the house clean. She punished him with a burning cigarette, leaving red scars on his arms. He started to cry, earning another fire round on his skin, because men were supposed to be tough.
He then kept to his own. Never really trying to do anything with his mother. But he didn't forget his sister. He always had time for her and he always took care of her. He loved her.
Once his sister wanted a tree house. He took the equipment and started to build, but he got his finger targeted by the nail. Melody took his hand and said it was okay. She bandaged his finger and smiled. Her smile was confident, so he believed her.
Soon came the time when their mother was getting herself together. Mainly because soon Léon was leaving for college. It was a big deal for him and even a little for his mother. He flew off to Nebraska, leaving Melody and Jane behind.
But one day he received a phone call from his sister. He didn't quite think anything about it until he heard the news. She was beaten to death by a gang in her home street. This made him drop his school and he flew back to his hometown. His mother was worse now. He got few burns again, because in his mother's words - it was his fault.
A dark time fell over both of them and Léon tried to help Jane - he couldn't. They decided that it was better if Léon lived alone. Both of them put their money together and bought a house in Los Angeles, near the deck, floating on water. It was perfect for Léon because he had sailing license. He even bought a yacht. He had his 20th birthday there with Matilda -his dog- and with few friends. He really didn't have the mood for partying. In LA, he finished his college and started to look for a job. He was far from a happy kid now. The look on his serious face telling a sad story on it's own.
But it was until he met her. A blonde goddess with ocean blue eyes, at least in his perspective. She accidentally visited Léon with her some kind of boyfriend Jake, because they needed a roof on their heads. But that night, neither of Léon or Cloe got any sleep. So they ended up having a duo session on the couch. Oh how wild girl she was and he could see she was different. Maybe her choice of being a man eater wasn't her difference from other people, but there was something more than what met the eye. He could see she was hiding her feelings between the sheets. That's why she was interesting. She was like a closed book you couldn't read. So he decided to win her. It wasn't a competition actually. She was clearly drawn to him. But now she had to choose - Léon or Jake. And she chose Léon. He was happy but now he didn't quite know how to act around her. He never had a steady relationship before - if that was the way, they were going. But he took her sailing and kissed her sweet lips and he loved her - it was enough.
He took her to Paris and they talked about their sad lives. She had lost someone too - her grandfather who had once replaced her uncaring father. They smoked, they cried, they kissed, they made love. And that was enough. Léon took her to see his grandparents and she liked them.
The summer came and she had to fly to London to visit her aunt with her brother. Léon surprised her by flying to London too. But her brother -Jagger- didn't like it. You see, she was only 17 and still in high school. Léon was 23. She was underaged but that didn't bother them because they needed each other. It was like magic how they fit together and they didn't want anybody to ruin that.

Now they are sitting on the sofa and looking at Léon's photo album. She loves him, he loves her. There are a lot of problems going on right now, but they still have their bond, their need for each other. When Léon looks at her, he sees the future. Maybe he will marry her, even if he doesn't believe in it. But he would do anything for her. He knew he had to do some things, that might hurt her. He wanted to find his sister's murderers. But in that moment, everything was still and silent. They looked at a picture they took on top of the Eiffel tower. He kissed her head and wishpered 'I love you's in her ear. He could feel her sweet scent floating around in the air. In that moment, everything was perfect.

That was the last thing he saw, before he closed his eyes.
