Kellen Moore has reached a multi-year agreement to remain as Cowboys offensive coordinator and said he will no longer pursue the Boise State job. “I love Boise State. I will always root for them, and I hope one day to be a part of the program again.” Moore said. “We are building something special here in Dallas. I am thankful to the Jones family and Mike McCarthy for providing me with the opportunity to coach these special players. I am excited for us to put it all together and finish the job.”

The Patriots elevated CB D'Angelo Ross (New Mexico/pictured) and G Ross Reynolds (Iowa) from the practice squad for Sunday's finale. They are standard elevations. The club also signed DE Rashod Berry, LB Cassh Maluia and CB Michael Jackson from the practice squad to the active roster, with 2021 in mind as well, as those deals should extend into next season. So there is some future planning in mind. To open one roster spot, the club placed RB Damien Harris on injured reserve.

The Cowboys activated Zack Martin to the active roster, but he did not make the trip to New York. Had the Cowboys not activated Martin, they would have been forced to release him because he was given a “minor” injured reserve designation when he suffered his calf injury on Thanksgiving. Safety Steven Parker (knee) was also activated off injured reserve. If the Cowboys make the playoffs, it is possible Martin will be able to play.

In addition to being without safety Darian Thompson and defensive tackle Justin Hamilton, Cowboys assistant coaches Rob Davis, Matt Daniels and Scott Tolzien will not make the trip to New York because of COVID-19 related protocols. The Cowboys called up tackle William Sweet and defensive tackle Walter Palmer from the practice squad to fill out the roster.

Seahawks OC Brian Schottenheimer said Thursday he feels Rashaad Penny is on the verge of "a breakout moment." He could get his shot Sunday now that Carlos Hyde (illness) has been downgraded to out. Penny has played just 10 snaps behind Chris Carson and Hyde in his two games back from knee surgery. "I think he's really close," Schottenheimer said. "We've managed him the right way in our opinion, but at some point we're going to let him go a little bit more and we're getting close to that point."

The Seahawks put RT Brandon Shell and S Damarious Randall on the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday. Pete Carroll said Friday that Shell was a close contact of someone outside the organization who tested positive, but that Shell had not tested positive himself. His status for Sunday was already in question due to his ankle. Seattle elevated RB Alex Collins, WR Penny Hart and G Alex Boone from its practice squad. CB Tre Flowers was activated off IR. RB Carlos Hyde was downgraded to out (illness).

The Jets have waived PK Sam Ficken, who had two kicks blocked last week. The move allows them to take a look at Chase McLaughlin, whom they acquired recently. McLaughlin is under contract for 2021, while Ficken was due to become an exclusive-rights free agent. They weren't going to tender Ficken; this just accelerates the process. Also, the Jets downgraded CB Bless Austin (illness) to out for tomorrow's finale.

The Patriots have ruled out starting center David Andrews (calf), starting right guard Shaq Mason (calf) and No. 1 running back Damien Harris (ankle) for Sunday's season finale against the Jets. Andrews (pictured) is scheduled for unrestricted free agency after the season.

After two positive COVID tests for Darian Thompson and Justin Hamilton, the Cowboys have been cleared for a normal practice at The Star on Saturday following contact tracing protocols. The team flies to New Jersey later today for tomorrow's season finale against the New York Giants.

Morning-after thoughts on Justin Fields: While impressive, his performance doesn't mean the Jets will pick him at 2. The next coach will have a say in the QB Decision, and we don't know who that is (assuming Adam Gase is a goner). What Fields did, though, was raise the value of the pick, which will benefit the Jets if they decide to trade out. If Fields does it against Alabama, a more talented and more sophisticated defense than Clemson, it would be hard for the Jets to pass.

Pete Carroll said CB Tre Flowers had a great week of practice and is ready to play. Flowers has been on IR since Dec. 5 because of a hamstring injury. He would need to be activated to their 53-man roster in order to play in Sunday's regular-season finale against the 49ers. The Seahawks have an open spot after waiving DT Damon Harrison earlier this week. Flowers has started seven games on the right side, but D.J. Reed has emerged there in his absence.

The Seahawks have deemed RT Brandon Shell to be a close contact of someone outside the organization who tested positive for COVID-19. Pete Carroll said Shell has tested negative. He didn't know if Shell will have to go on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Shell is listed as questionable for Sunday's regular-season finale. His status was already iffy due to his ankle. He was limited Wednesday and Thursday. Carroll said he was held out Friday as the Seahawks learned of his close-contact situation.

The Seahawks list TE Greg Olsen as questionable for Sunday's regular-season finale vs. the 49ers, but Pete Carroll said they'll hold him out to make sure he's ready for the playoffs. Olsen returned last week after missing four games while on IR due to a tear in his plantar fascia. "It's just a little flare-up from last week but he handled it well, practiced today and got through it and all that," Carroll said Friday. "But we just think it's the best thing is to do to give him another weekend."

Brady Henderson ESPN

The Seahawks list RB Carlos Hyde as questionable for their regular-season finale vs. the 49ers due to what Pete Carroll said is a non-COVID illness. He's been at home all week with flu-like symptoms and hasn't practiced. Carroll said Friday: "We thought he would practice today but we're going to carry it until tomorrow, see what happens tomorrow." Also questionable: RT Brandon Shell, LG Mike Iupati and S Damarious Randall. RB DeeJay Dallas and CB Jayson Staley are out. TE Greg Olsen won't play.

Rich Cimini ESPN Staff Writer

Jets injury report: Two of their top three corners are questionable — Bless Austin (non-COVID-19-related illness) and Javelin Guidry. If they can't play, it would put more stress on an already-stressed secondary.

Trent Brown is OUT for the Raiders' finale at Denver. He will have played in just five games this season, 16 over two years since signing a four-year, $66 million contract with the Raiders. "We brought him in and paid him to be the LeBron James of right tackles," said Raiders coach Jon Gruden, who hoped to bring back a healthy Brown next season.

Jenna Laine ESPN Staff Writer

Cornerback Carlton Davis' official status for Sunday against the Falcons: doubtful. Coach Bruce Arians said Friday that he'll be a "game-time decision."
